Hull City will welcome the return of three players to first team contention this week, according to Hull Live.

The Tigers will have Ryan Longman, Randell Williams and Mallik Wilks available in the first team squad for their upcoming clash with Preston North End.

The trio missed the 2-1 comeback victory over Bristol City in the team’s opening fixture of the new Championship season.

However, Shota Arveladze is set to be without the likes of Brandon Fleming, Nathan Baxter, Dogukan Sinik and James Scott this weekend.

The quintet remain injured so will be unavailable for selection.

Hull had several injury concerns going into the opening game of the new campaign against former manager Nigel Pearson.

A 30th minute goal concession to Andreas Weimann got the team off to the worst possible start to the season.

But new signings showed their worth in their competitive debuts for Arveladze’s team, with Ozan Tufan stepping up to slot home a penalty in the 72nd minute.

Jean Michael Seri earned all three points for the home side with a dramatic late goal in the 94th minute, giving Hull a winning start to 2022-23.

Their next game comes against Preston North End on August 6, where the returning trio will all be looking to earn their place in the team.

The Verdict

This will be a welcome return for Hull going into the Preston game next weekend.

Longman in particular has proven to be quite a useful player for the Tigers having done well since his arrival from Brighton.

Williams has not quite found a place in the team consistently but has proven a solid squad player under Arveladze.

While there is speculation surrounding the future of Wilks, his return will also be a boost to the team’s attack.
