Jarrod Bowen took his goal-scoring tally to nine for the season after his brace against Derby County helped Hull City to victory on Saturday.

The in-form winger converted two Kamil Grosicki crosses in the last 16 minutes at the KCOM to give the Tigers all three points over the Rams to move them into the top-half of the table for the time being.

The 22-year old has now hit 44 Championship goals for the Tigers and is already well on course to beat last seasons haul of 22 league goals and has undoubtedly become City's key player.

Without Bowen's goals this season, City would be nine points worse off than they are now and would be occupying the final spot in the Championship relegation places, showing just how integral he is to the side.

Bowen has unsurprisingly attracted interest from a host of Premier League teams including Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Burnley.

Some may find it hard to see Bowen still at the KCOM this time next season, with the winger's pacy play and the clear natural ability to finish it is no wonder that a number of clubs are on the former Hereford man's trail.

Bowen, is under contract at Hull until next summer, with the club having the option to extend that if they offer him a new deal before March and the forward has expressed that he loves being at the club.

Manager Grant McCann confirmed to Hull Daily Mail that the club and Bowen's agent are in discussions over a new deal with Bowen reportedly telling his manager he wants to play in the Premier League with the Tigers.

At only 22, Bowen's best option would be to sit down with Hull and discuss a long term deal and as their prized asset he will have some negotiating power when it comes to extending his stay at the KCOM.

It is fair to say that unless Hull make a push for the play-offs, it is hard to see the club challenging for a place in the Premier League this term and Bowen could opt to put a clause in the contract extending asking to be sold if they have not reached the Premier League by 2021.

This would not only benefit him but it would also benefit the club massively.

Bowen would get one more season at City and would potentially fulfil his ambition of playing in the Premier League with them whilst the Tigers would be able to command a high transfer fee should the player decide he wants to move on.

At his age, the most important thing for Bowen is to get as many minutes under his belt as possible, and at City he is undoubtedly the first name on their team-sheet.

Should he sign a new long-term deal with Hull, and the club fail to gain promotion in the next couple of seasons then nobody can blame Bowen for looking to move on from the KCOM.

Manager Grant McCann doesn't seem the type of manager to stand in the way of a player's ambition and with Bowen clearly  happy at the club, all parties should look to reach a compromise on the winger's future.
