Hull have yet to make a single addition to their playing squad this month, with all the uncertainty over their ownership impacting their ability to do deals.

With a takeover set to finally be completed though, it appears as though the Tigers are finally making some moves in the transfer window. One of these is for Aleksandar Pesic, with journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu revealing that Hull have now made a bid for his services.

The club are currently right near the bottom of the Championship table and they'll be desperate to add some more firepower to their ranks to ensure that they can pull away from the drop zone in the second half of the season. With Josh Magennis having also departed for Wigan, it has left the team rather short in attack.

That means a striker signing looks likely for Grant McCann and it appears as though Pesic could be the one they want, with a bid now having gone in for the 29-year-old. The striker, who currently plays in Turkey for Fatih Karagumruk, has managed an impressive 12 goals in just 21 games so far this season. That leaves him with a rate of 0.76 goals or assists per 90 minutes on average - a fantastic amount.

If he can carry that over to England, then he could be just the person Hull need to help fire them to safety. It's not the first time he has impressed either, with the striker managing a stunning 25 goals in 35 games for Red Star back in 2017/18 and 10 in 25 during a stint at FC Seoul too.

Pesic has been to various countries so far - and he might be ready to take on England next.

The Verdict

Aleksandar Pesic is a gamble but it could be one that pays off handsomely for Hull.

The striker is about to enter his thirties, so resale value might be low but it doesn't mean he won't impress - there have been plenty of forwards who have plundered goals right up until the very end of their career. In addition, his record makes for good reading and he's done it in various leagues, showing he is certainly adaptable.

England represents a fresh challenge for him though, so it will be interesting to see how he could handle it if he does make the move over to the Championship with Hull. The signs are there that he could be an inspired signing for them and they certainly do need another attacker.

Pesic might not cost too much either - so if a deal is relatively cheap, then it could be a real bargain for the Tigers. The club's fans will just be hoping that if a deal is done, that he doesn't end up being a flop.
