MLS side Inter Miami are closing in on a deal to bring DeAndre Yedlin into the club - beating Hull City in the process, according to the Miami Herald.

It was first revealed on Monday by CBS Sports that the Tigers were in talks with the 28-year-old, who has amassed 71 international caps for the United States of America.

Tan Kesler, who is a part of new Hull owner Acun Ilicali's team and is expected to be appointed as director of football, had Yedlin as a client when he worked as an agent and brokered his move from Newcastle United to Galatasaray.

But his influence is not set to win out here as Yedlin is returning to his home nation, with the Herald reporting that the right-back wants to come home to raise his young family.

Yedlin has played 23 times for Turkish giants Galatasaray this season, but they are said to have agreed to a buyout of his contract so that he can return to the States for no transfer fee whatsoever.

The Verdict

From what information has been gathered, new manager Shota Arveladze's favoured system is a 4-2-3-1 so it's doubtful that there will be Randell Williams and Ryan Longman used as wing backs anymore.

And with Lewie Coyle out injured since November, Yedlin would have been a great addition with experience at the top level of English football.

However you can understand why he's chosen Miami over Hull - that isn't a slight on the East Riding of Yorkshire city whatsoever but the former is in his home country after all.

Ilicali will no doubt have a plan though to find another player in that position - but he has just five days of the transfer window left to do so.
