According to Sky Sports News, Cardiff City have rejected a £10m bid from Hull City for striker Kenneth Zohore.

Hull City have been knocked back in their latest attempt to land Kenneth Zohore from Championship rivals Cardiff City, who are desperate to keep their leading marksman.

After scoring twice in twelve games during a loan spell from January 2016 to the end of the 2015/16 season, Kenneth Zohore signed a permanent deal with Cardiff last summer.

The former Denmark under-21 international signed a three year deal with Cardiff in the summer transfer window and went on to score twelve goals in 29 Championship appearances for the Bluebirds.

Zohore has already opened his account for this season with a late strike on the opening day against Burton Albion.

In his career so far, the 23-year-old has played for FC Copenhagen, Fiorentina, Brondby, IFK Goteborg, Odense Boldklub and KV Kortrijk.

Hull City's search for a new striker has to be stepped up after Abel Hernandez suffered an Achilles injury in the midweek loss to Wolves.

With a lengthy spell on the sidelines expected for the Uruguayan international (who already has three goals this term), Zohore has been identified as a top target.

However, Cardiff are standing firm and have rejected a number of offers from Hull City, with the latest reported to be £10m.

The Verdict

While Kenneth Zohore has shown that he is capable of scoring goals in the Championship, paying anything more than £10m for the Danish striker would be a risk.

Value for money is hard to come by in the current market and Hull would be paying well over the odds for Zohore.

However, if he ends up scoring fifteen to twenty goals for the Tigers and pushing them to promotion, then that is an investment worth making.
