Hull City have confirmed the signing of Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Matt Ingram for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old has joined the Tigers on a three-year deal, with the option of a further year and becomes new manager Grant McCann's first signing of the summer.

Ingram made four Championship appearances for QPR at the start of last season and conceded 13 goals, before losing his place in the side to Joe Lumley, who would go on to keep 16 clean sheets in all competitions.

The 'keeper joined QPR from Wycombe Wanderers in 2016 and went on to make 19 appearances for the Hoops, keeping three clean sheets.

Hull confirmed McCann as their new head coach last week, following Nigel Adkins' decision to leave the club after 18 months in charge.

Adkins was able to guide Hull to a 13th-placed finish in the Championship last season, but decided to walk away from the club after turning down the offer of a new contract.

The Verdict

I'm not sure this is a good signing for Hull City.

Ingram made four Championship appearances for QPR at the start of last season and conceded 13 goals. He really struggled to make an impact for the Rs and doesn't have a great deal of experience in the Championship.

It's unlikely that Ingram was going to get another chance at Loftus Road next season, especially after the club signed Liam Kelly, so it makes sense for him to leave the club.

I'm not convinced he will be a good signing for Hull though and it will be interesting to see if he gets much of a chance at the KCOM Stadium next season.
