Hull City are planning on sending midfielder Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand back to Premier League leaders Arsenal following his struggles in East Riding of Yorkshire, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Oulad M'Hand was one of many summer signings to arrive at the MKM Stadium under the management of previous head coach Shota Arveladze, and there was a fee included in the loan move to potentially make it a permanent one in the future.

However, the 19-year-old has not had the chance to even impress with City as he has failed to make a single appearance so far this season.

The Dutch central midfielder arrived at Hull as an injured player having picked up a thigh problem whilst on Arsenal's pre-season tour over the summer, and he has only just returned to first-team training recently after his recovery.

He is not in manager Liam Rosenior's plans though, and he has admitted that the best course of action for all parties could be to terminate the agreement - something which is expected to occur before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday night.

"He trained for the first time (in months) over the last two days but he's so far away still," Rosenior said of the Gunners teenager, per HullLive.

"He couldn't train today (Thursday) because of the intensity.

"He's a young kid and he's had quite a tough injury. It's one where we're looking at the best option for him and what the solution is.

"Does he go back to his parent club and get his rehab done there? Because it's going to be very, very difficult for him to play games here.

"That's something that's not just a discussion for me. I have to look after the best interests of the group and him, and at the moment he's not someone that features in my plans in the short term."

The Verdict

Clearly a player of some promise to be on the books of Arsenal, it just has not gone right for Oulad M'Hand at Hull.

Whilst he wasn't ever guaranteed to be a significant part of the first-team squad this season anyway, such is the experience that the Tigers possess in the engine room already, the negotiation of a permanent option in the deal suggested that Hull had high hopes.

Injuries though have scuppered the Dutchman's chances and his time in Yorkshire appears to be all-but over.

Of course, Arsenal could refuse to terminate the loan and make Hull shoulder his wages for the remainder of the season, but in the interests of the player, who clearly will not feature for the Tigers, it makes sense to take him back from a Gunners perspective.
