Diame has faith in the Hull City team

The Tigers made up for last Saturday's defeat at top of the table Brighton and Hove Albion, with a 2-0 win at Cardiff City on Tuesday, in which Diame was instrumental, scoring Hull's first and assisting the second.

Diame was part of Steve Bruce's 2014 summer deadline-day frenzy, signed for £3.5m from West Ham, he joined The Tigers on the same day as stars such as Abel Hernandez, Gaston Ramirez and Hatem Ben Arfa.

The 28-year-old Senegal international found the net three times in his first five games for the East Yorkshire club, but suffered a long injury setback, missing the rest of the season in which the Tigers went on to be relegated.

After the game against Cardiff City, Diame said to the club website: "It was important that the team showed a reaction after the loss at Brighton and I thought we did that brilliantly. I’m pleased to be fit and I’m here to help the team get back to the Premier League. That is all we want to achieve this season and we have to be looking for the three points from every game whether that is at home or away."

Hull City and Diame will be hoping to follow up on Tuesday night's first away win of the season at the KC Stadium on Saturday, against Queens Park Rangers.

The Tigers currently sit in fourth place in the Sky Bet Championship, having amassed 13 points from seven league games thus far this season.
