Hull City manager drops big hint over January interest in League One star

Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be interested in making a move for Scunthorpe United winger Hakeeb Adelakun.

Speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, Adkins admitted he was ‘aware’ of the abilities of Adelakun, and that he has ‘seen his career progress nicely’ after admitting he has watched the impressive 21-year-old himself.

Adelakun has been in impressive form for the Iron this season and has drawn the attention of a host of admiring onlookers from the Championship and even reported interest from the Premier League. However, new Tigers manager Adkins might fancy using his links with his former club as an ace up his sleeve to try and land Adelakun, and he will be hopeful of concluding a deal.

The wing ace has four goals this season but it is his overall performances for the Lincolnshire outfit what have impressed watching scouts and Adkins, and there is bound to be plenty of tentative bids and testing of the water done in January.

Scunthorpe will be keen to keep hold of their star man though, and any club wanting to take Adelakun off their hands will no doubt have to pay quite the price for the impressive youngster.

Hull fans, what do you think to this? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
