Hull City have made an offer of at least £3m as they look to sign MK Dons attacker Scott Twine.

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the most exciting talents in the Football League after an excellent year in League One, where he scored 20 goals and registered 13 assists to help Liam Manning's side to a third-place finish.

Whilst the campaign ultimately ended in disappointment as they lost in the play-off semi-final to Wycombe, Twine enhanced his reputation with his performances.

Therefore, a summer move has always seemed likely and Telegraph reporter John Percy has revealed that the Tigers have made the first move to land the player.

"Hull City have made a bid of £3m for MK Dons midfielder Scott Twine, with the prospect of further add-ons if a deal is agreed."

It remains to be seen whether that offer will be accepted by the third tier side, although they aren't in a position where they need to cash in as Twine is under contract for a few more years.

The verdict

This would be an excellent bit of business for Hull, as anyone who saw Twine play last season will recognise that he is a top talent who is ready to make the step up to the Championship.

His goals and assists return is outstanding and he also contributes a lot to the team with his overall play, so Hull would be getting a top quality player who has room to improve.

You would imagine MK Dons will want more than £3m initially before they consider selling, so it will be interesting to see how the negotiations play out.
