Hull City have offered new contracts to a key trio ahead of the hectic festive period in an effort to deter any interest in their services in January's transfer window according to Sky Sports News.

The report revealed that the Tigers are trying to come to an agreement with Jarrod Bowen, Jordy de Wijs and Kamil Grosicki over extending their stays at the KCOM Stadium.

All three of the players have been key to the club in recent years, with Bowen's performances in particular catching the eye of a number of clubs.

The pacy winger has ten goals to his name so far this season, and will be keen to replicate the success he had in last year's league campaign, where he hit 22 goals in total as Hull finished 13th in the Championship.

It has previously been reported by Sky Sports that Spurs were interested in landing Bowen's signature, although a formal bid never materialised over the summer.

But Newcastle and Southampton are believed to be the latest clubs interested in signing Bowen which has seemingly led to Hull making an effort in trying to get the winger to commit his future to the club.

Grosicki is another key player that Grant McCann will be keen to have around for the foreseeable future, with the experienced winger having featured in 15 league matches so far this term, scoring five goals in the process.

De Wijs has made 14 league appearances this season himself, and has tightened up a Hull defence that looked shaky before he stepped into the back line.

Hull are next in action on Saturday when they take on league leaders West Brom, in what is certain to be one of their toughest games of the season to date.

The Verdict:

This is a real statement by Hull if they can pull it off.

All of the players that have been offered new deals by the club are key members of Grant McCann's squad who are likely to be attracting interest in the January transfer window.

Bowen in particular will be the main man they want to get tied down to a new deal, as it wouldn't come as a surprise to see the likes of Spurs renewing their interest in him in the near future.
