Hull City are interested in signing Brentford goalkeeper Luke Daniels, according to reports from reliable journalist Alan Nixon.

The 31-year-old signed for the Bees from Scunthorpe United in 2016, and has since made 24 appearances for the West London club, falling behind Dan Bentley in the pecking order at Griffin Park.

Therefore, the talented shot-stopper is facing an uncertain future at Griffin Park at present, and with his contract set to expire next summer, the Bees may look to sell him this summer rather than let him leave on a free transfer in 12 months time.

And, according to Nixon, Hull City are interested in signing the goalkeeper, as they look to find a replacement should David Marshall depart the KCOM Stadium this summer.

The Scotland international has recently been linked with a surprise move to Champions League winners Liverpool, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this month.

Both sides will be looking to form a promotion push next season, after both missing out on a play-off spot this term following disappointing ends to the season.

The Verdict

I think that Daniels would be a solid addition for Hull in the summer, and it's an area of the pitch that they definitely need to strengthen.

For him, it's a perfect move, as he will get the chance to play regularly after a frustrating time of it.

Also, on a free transfer it's a deal that makes a lot of sense for the club too.
