In-form Hull City are interested in adding new strikers to their ranks in January, and could make moves for both Ashley Fletcher and Sam Gallagher.
Tigers boss Nigel Adkins is hopeful of landing some new additions in the winter window, and according to Alan Nixon, has targeted the Middlesbrough and Southampton strikers as key players he feels can improve his squad at the KCom.
Fletcher put in an impressive performance yesterday for Boro and got on the scoresheet in their FA Cup win, while Gallagher has once again found himself out of the picture at St Mary’s and will be open to another loan move away from the Saints if one can be sorted.
Middlesbrough are thought to be open to Fletcher making a move too, and Hull boss Adkins will no doubt be delighted if he can add one or both of the young forwards to his ranks.
Fletcher has impressed on loan before, helping to fire Barnsley to League One promotion a couple of seasons back, while Gallagher has impressed with Blackburn Rovers, who are also said to be interested in re-signing the youngster.
Both of these players would be solid enough additions for Hull in all honesty, who are one of the Championship’s surprise packages.
Fletcher is a talent just waiting to get out, while Gallagher needs his big break, and he might just get it under Adkins.
Both players should be happy to make a move to an in form team as well, and it could well be a masterstroke from Adkins and Hull.
