Brighton & Hove Albion are in talks with Hull City to make Ryan Longman's loan with the Championship club a permanent deal, as per The Athletic's transfer tracker (31/01 - 9:41 am).

The 21-year-old signed a two-year extension with the Seagulls in the summer, however, he could be permanently joining the Tigers.

Longman, who started the season on the fringes for Hull, has recently emerged as a regular starter for the Tigers, scoring three and assisting four in his last 11 games.

The young winger netted nine times and assisted five in all competitions during a loan spell with AFC Wimbledon last time out.

Longman has been deployed as a wing-back in recent weeks, proving to be just as competent in his new role as when given attacking freedom in a more advanced deposition.

The verdict

This would be an excellent permanent addition for the Tigers because of the incredibly high ceiling he has and the ability that he is already showing.

Longman has recently emerged as a key performer at Hull, possessing bags of confidence and ability, with his final third contributions improving as the weeks go on.

Longman certainly has what it takes to make it to the Premier League and is enjoying his football with the Tigers at the moment.

Hull currently sit in 19th place in the Championship standings, but it would appear that they are not in any immediate danger of relegation, birding the gap to 12 points from the relegation zone as a result of Saturday's 2-0 win at home to Swansea City.
