Hull City are in talks with Queens Park Rangers to sign goalkeeper Matt Ingram, according to a report by West London Sport.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper has fallen down the pecking order at Loftus Road following the recent signing of Liam Kelly from Livingston and QPR are keen to sell him this summer.

Ingram made just four Championship appearances for QPR at the beginning of last season and conceded 13 goals, immediately losing his place in the side to Joe Lumley.

The goalkeeper made just three more appearances for QPR last season, one in the FA Cup and two in the EFL Cup, but he failed to keep a keep sheet.

Lumley kept an impressive 14 clean sheets in the Championship last season and will rival Kelly for the number one spot at Loftus Road next season.

QPR finished 19th in the Championship table last season and will be hoping to get off to a better start this season under new manager Mark Warburton.

The R's sacked Steve McClaren as their manager in April, after a poor run of just one win from 15 league matches, but caretaker boss John Eustace was able to guide the club to safety.

Hull finished 13th in the Championship last season and appointed Grant McCann as their new manager last week, following Nigel Adkins' decision to leave the club.

The Verdict

Hull City might need a new goalkeeper next season, with out-of-contract 'keeper David Marshall's future at the KCOM Stadium still uncertain, but I'm not sure Ingram would be a good signing.

Ingram has got hardly an experience in the Championship and when he was finally given his chance at QPR, he really struggled to make an impact.

It's highly unlikely that he's going to get another chance at Loftus Road, especially after Lumley's impressive performances last season and the signing of Kelly, so it makes sense for QPR to try to sell him this summer.
