According to a report by The Hull Daily Mail, Hull City are keen on re-signing Harry Wilson for next season.

Hull snapped up Wilson on loan from Liverpool on deadline day during the January transfer window and he has been excellent for the Tigers, helping them to climb away from the relegation zone.

Under the guidance of Nigel Adkins, Hull now sit nine points clear of the drop zone with three games to play - meaning they are all but safe looking ahead to next season.

And Adkins is already planning for next season by targeting Wilson again.

The Wales international, who has scored once for his country in three matches, has cemented his place as a regular for Hull after impressing with his displays out wide.

In just eight starts, Wilson has managed to find the net on five occasions and he has contributed with a further three assists.

Hull want to sign Wilson but the 21-year-old might have caught Jurgen Klopp's eye, having shone in a poor performing Championship side.

Adkins remains optimistic that Hull will be able to sign him again this summer.

He said: “I think he’ll be playing for Hull City in the Championship but that’s me being positive.”

The Verdict

Klopp is likely to run the rule over Wilson during pre-season but with the likes of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana competing for attacking midfield spots, another loan move could be sanctioned. And, at the age of 21, Wilson needs to be playing regularly to fulfil his tremendous potential. The young Welshman is popular among the fans at Hull and he would be welcomed back into a squad where he would be in a starring role - the move makes sense.
