According to the Hull Daily Mail, Hull City are in advanced talks with Ahmed Musa over the forward joining the Tigers on-loan from Leicester City.

Leonid Slutsky and Hull are hopeful of sealing a season-long loan deal for Musa, who only joined Leicester a year ago for a reported £17m.

The 24-year-old struggled to make a major impact on the Premier League last season, only managing to make 33 appearances across all competitions, including seven starts in the league.

Musa now could be set for a season away from the King Power Stadium with Hull, where he would link back up with Slutsky, who he worked with at CSKA Moscow prior to his move to Leicester.

Slutsky has been tasked with a major reshape at Hull following their relegation from the Premier League last season, and the Russian has had a successful start to the Sky Bet Championship campaign, with the Tigers picking up seven-points from their opening five fixtures.

Hull are now looking to finalise their squad ahead of the end of the summer transfer window, and following the arrival of Nouha Dicko from Wolves yesterday, the Tigers are now looking to complete an ambitious move to bring Musa in on-loan.

So far this season Musa has made just one appearance for Leicester, which came in the Carabao Cup victory over Sheffield United – the Nigerian scored once in the 4-1 victory.

The Verdict

This has the potential to be a real coup for Hull, and at such a late stage of the transfer window, it could hand Slutsky’s side a huge boost on the other side of the international break.

Musa arrived in England for a hefty transfer-fee, but despite not making a major impact during his first 12-months in England, he still has the potential to be a success.

If Slutsky can help the forward settle in at Hull quickly, he could make a big impact in the Championship and help the Tigers put themselves in serious top-six contention.
