Hull City have been linked with a move for Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne.

According to WIWSport, the Tigers have already held talks with the 26-year-old forward and will be looking to complete the signing this summer.

Diagne, who plays his football in the Turkish Super Lig, scored 12 goals in his 17 appearances for Kasimpasa last season.

A move away from Turkey is likely for the striker, whose club are said to be willing to sell, but Nigel Adkins side will face stiff competition, with the likes of Real Sociedad and clubs from the Middle East also interested in the Diagne.

The Tigers are in the market for a new first choice front man after Abel Hernandez turned down the chance to stay at Hull City.

While Hull still have the likes of Fraizer Campbell, Nouha Dicko and Will Keane all their disposal, the acquisition of a new striker is very likely.

Diagne was on the books at Serie A champions Juventus for two year, starting in 2013, but failed to make an appearance for the club, and was loaned out to a number of different clubs.

The Verdict

With Abel Hernandez rejecting his new and improved contract, it certainly leaves Hull City very much in the market for a new striker.

Despite his relatively average track record of past clubs, Mbaye Diagne has potential to set the Championship alight with his goal scoring ability.

With a similar to that of Hernandez, the transition of the players around Diagne as Hull wouldn’t be difficult, perhaps making this a strong signing, if it were to happen.
