Hull City entered this season as an unknown quantity to many, but a lot of Championship fans and pundits fancied them to be in a relegation battle.

After an underwhelming 17/18 campaign, no one really fancied Nigel Adkins' men to pull up any trees, and a lot thought settling for safety was all they could hope for this campaign.

For the first couple of months, it looked like this was a good prediction, with Hull picking up just two wins from the start of the season to late October - the first 14 league fixtures.

Big defeats against Derby and Reading were the low point of these first couple of months, and it seemed that Adkins was staring down the barrel of a potential sacking.

Then, around November time, something seemed to click. There were no drastic changes in terms of shape or system, but Hull started to gain a bit of confidence and went on a remarkable r8un.

An away win at Bolton was a catalyst for a great run of form that saw Hull lose just one game in 12 over the Christmas and New Year period, with a run of six wins in a row over Christmas.

From there, it has been a little more inconsistent, with fans never really knowing which Hull City side will turn up.

The Tigers have certainly silenced their doubters, with a play-off push being on until a couple of weeks ago, but bigger challenges are on the horizon for Adkins' men.

Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki have been phenomenal in Hull's run, earning warranted attention from neutral fans. Grosicki has nine goals and 12 assists, whereas Bowen has a staggering 20 goals with four assists.

22-year-old Bowen has been rated highly, with The Sun reporting that Leicester are the latest team to register their interest in the talented wideman.

It'll be a very long summer for Hull, and they may well have to sell both of their prized assets, which could leave them in great danger next season.

In truth, without both of those, Hull will struggle next season, so will have to replace them well if they were to leave.

It's been a positive season for Hull, but bigger battles are on the horizon.
