Huddersfield Town striker Fraizer Campbell responded to a video from former Hull City man Dean Windass, revealing that the two had been in contact recently to talk about the help that Windass had been providing to others on social media.

Windass left the KCOM Stadium after scoring arguably on of the most famous goals in the club’s history, firing in a volley from the edge of the box at Wembley to seal Hull’s Premier League status via the play-offs back in 2008, in a fixture Campbell lined up alongside him in.

Since then he has gone on to play for sides locally to Hull with AFC Walkington being the most recent side that he has played for, as he currently manages East Hull.

Meanwhile, current Championship striker Fraizer Campbell is plying his trade for Huddersfield Town, having left the Tigers in the summer to join his own boyhood club. At present, he has 22 league appearances to his name in which he has scored twice as he becomes a dependable member of Danny Cowley’s Terriers side.

The pair share a fondness for the Tigers with Windass being born there and Campbell had made his most appearances in East Yorkshire over any other club.

The pair exchanged on twitter after Windass posted a video offering advice to fellow sportsmen, in which he mentioned Campbell’s name after the two spoke on the phone:

The Huddersfield striker responded:

The Hull City connection here clearly still strong between the two and they are still in touch despite Campbell’s move across Yorkshire to the John Smith’s Stadium.

How much do you know about Hull City's January signings?

The verdict

It’s good to see that former pro’s and current players can share moments like this to offer each other advice when they need it.

Windass is currently providing a lot of support on social media to those who need it and it’s clear that it doesn’t matter who you are, you might sometimes need the support of others.

Hull fans will enjoy this moment as it shows that the players past and present still cherish the connection built at the KCOM, rather than losing touch.

It’s something that most, if not all, players need to get into the habit of doing and Windass will be able to offer insight at first-hand of these types of issues.
