Brentford are still keen on doing a deal for Hull City's Keane Lewis-Potter and are aiming to sign the attacker this month.

It had been reported back in October that the newly-promoted Premier League outfit made a move for the Tigers man in the summer but a package that could be worth £8m was turned down by Hull.

However, that update stated the Bees could be back in for Lewis-Potter this month and 90min have confirmed that they are looking to sign the 20-year-old before the deadline.

The update does state that a deal could be tough though, as they reveal that Hull's takeover situation means they aren't willing to business yet.

Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali is in advanced talks to buy the Championship outfit but even though a deal has been close for some time, there's been no official announcement yet. It appears that the prospective new owner will be given the final say on whether Lewis-Potter stays.

The talented youngster has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the MKM Stadium.

The verdict

This will be a worry for Hull because Lewis-Potter has been excellent for the past 18 months really and would be sorely missed if he did depart.

You can't imagine that the new owner would want to buy the club and then sell a main man but the contract situation of the player does mean the club could have a decision to make if an offer comes in.

So, this is one to monitor in the next few weeks and it will be interesting to see if anything does happen.
