Hull City could be set to make a move for Norwich City winger Ben Marshall this summer as new manager Grant McCann looks to improve his squad.

Marshall is well down the pecking order at  Carrow Road and is highly unlikely to be given a chance in the Premier League by Daniel Farke.

However, according to Alan Nixon, Marshall could be given his chance at the KCom, with the Tigers looking to put together a deal which would see the former Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke man move to Yorkshire on loan.

Hull are looking to improve the squad ahead of next season with new manager McCann taking the reins from the departed Nigel Adkins.

Marshall could be keen to make a move back into the Championship for some first-team football, with the Tigers needing to sign players with star winger Jarrod Bowen likely to be the subject of plenty of interest as the transfer window continues.

The 28-year-old excelled in a spell with Blackburn a few seasons ago, and Hull would be looking for Marshall to replicate that sort of form if they did indeed manage to sign him. He was last seen with Millwall last year, where he once again impressed in a loan spell at the Den.

The Verdict

Marshall has always been and still is a solid Championship player, and he'd be a shrewd signing for the Tigers if they did sign him.

He has pace, is tricky, and can create from nothing, something McCann will be keen to see at the KCom.

Hull depserately need some more depth and quality in the squad, and if Bowen does indeed leave, then Marshall might be the ideal short-term replacement for the Tigers.
