According to the Watford Observer, Hull City are closing in on a loan move for Isaac Success.

The Watford striker has struggled for opportunities since his move to Vicarage Road last summer, making just 19 Premier League appearances, with just two of those coming in the starting XI.

The 21-year-old has scored just one goal for Watford, and Marco Silva has not used him so far this season in the Premier League, with his only appearance coming in the Carabao Cup.

Success was Watford’s club-record signing when he arrived last summer for a reported fee of £12.5m, but he is now set for a move to the Sky Bet Championship, where it is believed he will link up with Leonid Slutsky at Hull City.

Hull have endured a difficult start to life back in the Championship so far, picking up just four-points from their opening four fixtures and losing their last three fixtures across all competitions.

Slutsky is also without leading goalscorer, Abel Hernandez, who has been ruled out until 2018 with an Achilles injury, which has greatened Hull’s need for striking reinforcements.

Hull have recently secured the signing of Jon Toral on a three-year deal from Arsenal, easing some of their attacking issues.

The Verdict

Success would be an excellent addition for Hull, and one they desperately need following Hernandez’s injury.

Without Hernandez there was little chance that Hull would compete for promotion in the Championship, but Success could give Slutsky’s side a dimension they are missing in the striker’s absence.

Whilst Success’ record is poor, a run of consistent games in the first-team could give the striker an opportunity to find his feet in the Championship, where he has the potential to be lethal.
