Hull City are closing in on the signing of Bristol City winger Hakeeb Adelakun according to the Hull Daily Mail.

It is claimed that talks have been progressing recently between both parties, with an agreement now in place to see the move edge closer to being completed.

Adelakun signed for Bristol City back in 2018 from Scunthorpe United, but has found game time hard to come by with the Championship club.

In total, he has made just five appearances for them, and will be hoping that he can get his career back on track with Hull City this season.

The Tigers are currently playing their football in League One, and are sat third in the third-tier standings after the opening two matches of this year's campaign.

Adelakun will add much-needed depth to the Hull team this term, with the Tigers fighting off interest from other clubs to reach an agreement with Bristol City for his services.

Hull are next in action this weekend, when they take on Northampton Town, in a match they'll be expected to pick up three points from to keep themselves in the hunt for promotion back into the Championship this term.

The Verdict:

This is a decent signing for the League One side.

They definitely need depth in wide areas of their team, and signing Adelakun would provide them with that this season, as they target an immediate return to the Championship.

He's shown that he can perform to a high standard in the lower leagues, and I think this is a smart signing by Grant McCann, as he'll be eager to get his career back on track after a frustrating time with Bristol City.

I'm not surprised to see the Robins looking to move him on before the summer transfer window closes, as he wouldn't be getting anywhere near enough game time with them this season.
