Hull City look set to offer eight first team players new contracts, according to a report in the Hull Daily Mail.

The Tigers and manager Leonid Slutsky look set to offer deals to the players, including the likes of David Meyler and Abel Hernandez, with the gaffer clearly wanting to secure their futures and have a settled squad at the KCom as he looks to guide them back to the Premier League.

Club captain Michael Dawson is among the more senior players looking to secure a new deal, while the likes of 'keeper Allan McGregor and Seb Larsson are also set to be offered new deals at the club.

Hull have got off to an inconsistent start to the Championship season this year under new manager Slutsky, but will be looking to gain some momentum over the busy Christmas period and get some points on the board, while Slutsky will hope securing the futures of key players will boost his squad.

Other players such as Moses Odubajo and Adama Diomande are also set to be offered new deals as the club looks to secure their futures.

“We have spoken to everyone about this situation. I think it’s normal when you completely change a team. Nobody knows everything, it’s a very unpredictable situation. Now we understand the level of everybody and their potential. I think winter time will be the best time for us when we sign new contracts or extend contracts with some players." Slutzky said.

Hull take on Nottingham Forest today as they look to climb the table in the late kick off live on Sky.
