Hull City are close to signing of striker Allahyar Sayyadmanesh from Fenerbahce, Turkish journalist Gokmen Ozcan has reported.

Sayyadmanesh has only ever made three appearances for Fenerbahce, and spent the last year on loan with Zorya Luhansk.

That loan spell was more successful with the 20-year-old scoring 15 goals and providing seven assists in 50 appearances for the Ukrainian top-flight club.

Now however, it seems as though the forward could soon be on the move again, judging by Ozcan's claims.

Earlier this week, the reporter revealed that Hull had agreed with a €4.5million fee, with a 50% sell-on clause, for the sale of the striker.

Now it seems as though the Tigers are close to completing that deal, with this latest update from Ozcan revealing that Sayyadmanesh has been granted a visa, and is now due to travel to England to complete a move to the MKM Stadium.

If confirmed, Sayyadmanesh could become Hull's second signing of the January transfer window, after midfielder Regan Slater completed a permanent move from Sheffield United on Thursday.

The Verdict

This does look as though it could be a rather useful signing for Hull.

Having seen Josh Magennis leave for Wigan earlier this month, the Tigers could certanly benefit from adding an extra option to their attack to support the likes of Tom Eaves and Tyler Smith.

At 20-years-old, Sayyadmanesh is someone who could fill that void for some time to come, and his record on loan at Zorya Luhansk is a rather promising one.

You also feel that new owner Acun Ilicali will have wanted to get the Hull fans on board with some impressive business, and paying a significant fee for a player from a big name club in European football, feels like a statement of intent that will do just that.
