Hull City will look to end a run of five games without a win when Birmingham City visit tomorrow.

A late defeat in the week against Preston has meant the Tigers are only one point ahead of the relegation zone, occupied by Birmingham.

The run of results will concern fans, particularly with the number of goals they are conceding.

Only three teams have conceded more goals than Leonid Slutsky's men and goalkeeper Allan McGregor has just one clean sheet to his name this season.

That has prompted slight mentions of the Russian's suitability to this role, however he was adamant that good results are coming.

We play like I want for only 30 minutes in the match. I think if we play 60-70 minutes at this level we can speak about results. Everybody trusts me and I trust the team and I feel we are close to good results but we have to show our level,” the club tweeted.

The ex-CSKA Moscow boss also admitted the level of the league is challenging.

Now I understand each match in the Championship is very difficult and very unpredictable. But I an only thinking about tomorrow.”

Tomorrow has a very different feel about it, with Steve Cotterill taking over for his first game as Birmingham City manager.

He was part of the coaching team that kept Blues up last season.

The Verdict

After a bright start things have gone downhill for Hull fans and it's the defensive issues that will be the most concerning.

Only Bolton have scored fewer goals than Birmingham this season, so it will be an interesting contest with both managers seeking major improvements.

For Hull, it's all about ending the winless run and tomorrow would be ideal with back-to-back away games coming up after the international break.
