Manager Grant McCann has claimed that Hull City have yet to receive any bids for Jarrod Bowen, amid increasing speculation around the attacker's future.

Reports emerged last week claiming that Leeds United have made an offer to take the 23-year-old on loan until the end of the season for £3million, with a view to making that move permanent in the summer for a further £15million if they are promoted to the Premier League this year.

Premier League side Newcastle are also said to be lining up a bid for Bowen - who has 16 league goals already this season - while it has been claimed that Hull have offered their talisman a new and improved contract in a bid to ward off interest, with his current deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign - albeit with the club holding the option to extend it by a further 12 months.

Speaking ahead of his side's FA Cup fourth round clash with Chelsea on Saturday evening, McCann confirmed the offer of a new contract to Bowen from Hull, but denied receiving any bids from other sides for the attacker, with the Hull Daily Mail's live blog (23/01, 14:00) quoting him as saying: "No bids for Jarrod, nothing has come to me.

"As has been well publicised, a new and improved offer has gone to Jarrod and we’re just waiting to hear back from that."

Although there have yet to be any bids for Bowen, McCann did reveal the club are more focused on outgoings than incomings in the days of the window, with midfielder Markus Henriksen and striker David Milinkovic two who could find themselves on their way out of the KCOM Stadium.

Discussing the situation surrounding the duo, McCann revealed: "We’re just focusing on the outs really. Markus Henriksen and David Milinkovic are the two that spring to mind.

"We’re still working on them. There's no takers at this present time but I think there is a lot of interest in both of them but nothing that’s right for the football club as yet. I imagine something will happen."

So far this month, Hull have completed the signings of three players, with Martin Samuelsen joining on a permanent deal from West Ham, while Herbie Kane and Mallik Wilks have joined on loan from Liverpool and Barnsley respectively.

The Verdict

The Jarrod Bowen situation looks like one that could go all the way down to the wire in this transfer window.

Given the quality he has shown almost throughout the entirety of his time at Hull, it is hard not to expect someone to make a move for him sooner rather than later.

Indeed, even if the bids are yet to come, the interest will surely be there, and with the number of teams in both the Premier League and Championship seemingly needing to strengthen upfront, it will be no surprise to see Hull fielding offers for their in the next few days.

There also doesn't seem to be much of a surprise with regards to the situation surrounding Henriksen and Milinkovic, who are both some way down the pecking order at the club, meaning it does make sense to move them on if it possible to do so.
