Premier League club Brighton are facing stiff competition from the recently relegated Championship side Hull for the services of Watford’s Isaac Success, as revealed by sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The tweet sent out from O’Rourke has revealed that this wouldn’t be a permanent deal and that either club would only be able to take Success on loan.

The 21-year-old only joined Watford last season but had his debut campaign at Vicarage road hampered by a host of injuries.

A facial fracture and two separate hamstring injuries meant Success was limited to just 19 league games last season with only two of those coming as part of the starting 11.

In those 19 games, the Nigerian managed just one goal and one assist, a shadow of the six goals and five assists he managed in his last season at Granada.

Hull have had a busy summer so far with Leonid Slutsky bringing in 11 new faces already this transfer window.

The Verdict

Whilst this would be a good signing for Success, why would he choose to drop down a level to play for Hull rather than play for Brighton in the Premier League?

Success would be likely to get a fair amount of first team football at the Seagulls and it would give him a year to become accustom to life in the Premier League before returning to Watford.

With Frazier Campbell and Nouha Dicko signing already in this transfer window this deal doesn’t seem necessary for the Tigers either.
