Hull City are interested in Leeds United target Mbaye Diagne from Turkish club Kasimpasa, according to the Yorkshire Post.

With the days ticking away until the transfer window shuts, both clubs will be hoping for some movement in their pursuit of the former Juventus man, linked with a £3.6m move away from his current Turkish employers.

He's confirmed that he has received offers and held talks recently, but as yet there's been no definitive decision, although Premier League side Bournemouth have also been linked with the player in the past.

The Senegalese forward has been linked with a switch to Elland Road all summer, but Nigel Adkins side are still thought to be pushing them all the way for the 26-year old.

Diagne failed to appear once for Juventus in his stay there and has recently turned out for Tianjin Teda, Újpest FC, Westerlo and Al Shabab. In January he joined Kasimpasa and immediately scored on his debut, going on to register 12 goals during his first 17 games for the club.

Hull City kick off their Championship season this Monday as they entertain Steve Bruce's Aston Villa at the Kcom Stadium.

The Verdict

This pursuit has been raging all summer, but it seems neither club has let up in their interest of Diagne. Whether he has what it takes to step up to Championship football is another matter entirely, he could quite easily be the next Caleb Ekuban just as much as the next Abel Hernandez.

Both clubs know the deadline is fast approaching and it could be a very busy few days as they look to bring in new faces.
