Hull City boss Leonid Slutsky is hoping to bring in a new assistant manager to strengthen his backroom team.

According to the Hull Daily Mail, Slutsky has identified Oleg Yarovinsky as the man he wants to join him, having previously worked with him at CSKA Moscow.

Yarovinsky joined the Russian club in 2014 as their head of scouting and is credited with playing a big part in the successful years that followed.

After Marco Silva left Hull in the summer, the backroom team has been torn apart.

The Portuguese coach brought in members of his own staff who then followed him when he made the move to Watford.

That has meant Slutsky was working with a fairly limited number of staff after he initially decided to not bring in his own team.

First-team coach Tony Pennock and goalkeeping coach Pat Mountain have been the closest aides to the popular manager so far this season.

However, that appears to have changed now with a deal for Yarovinsky deemed a formality once he has secured a work permit.

The Verdict

This seems a very good move from Slutsky who has assessed what he needs and decided to bring in a coach he trusts.

Having someone to bounce ideas off and bring new methods to the group should only help.

After a slow start, the Tigers displayed their class against Birmingham last time out and Slutsky will be hoping to keep that momentum going at Norwich on Saturday.
