Hull and Middlesbrough among clubs chasing international defender

Published

New Championship duo Hull City and Middlesbrough are among the clubs who want to sign Blackburn defender Charlie Mulgrew, according to the Daily Mail.

The experienced defender was part of the Blackburn squad which was relegated to League One last season, and now it appears the 31-year-old is now a man in demand, with the recently relegated Tigers and Boro both wanting to sign him.

Mulgrew made his name up in Scotland where he became a key part of the successful Celtic squad, and moved to Blackburn back at the start of last season.

His time however with Rovers has not been the best, and he was unable to stop the club from finding itself in League One for the beginning of the 2017/18 season.

Both Boro and Hull are looking to add new players to their squad following their relegation from the Premier League, and someone like Mulgrew, who at 31 has bags of experienced, could prove to be an excellent move for either club.

Tigers and Boro fans, what do you think to this? Would Mulgrew be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
