Championship duo Hull City and Leeds United face a battle from Premier League outfit Newcastle to land Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent this summer, reports The Yorkshire Post.
The 20-year-old has come up through the youth ranks at Anfield yet has made just one senior appearance for the Reds, which came back in their 2-2 draw with Exeter City in the third round of the FA Cup in 2016.
However, he has since been unable to add to that solitary appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side, although the winger has enjoyed loan spells at Coventry City and Barnsley in the last few years, appearing for the latter 47 times in all competitions to help them to a 14th place finish in the Championship.
And he looks set to go out on loan once again next season, with second tier duo Hull and Leeds reportedly interested, yet recent reports suggest that they will face a battle to land the 20-year-old from Premier League side Newcastle.
The Magpies were promoted to the top-flight last season and are on the lookout for reinforcements in a bid to stay there, and chief Rafa Benitez clearly thinks that Kent can do a job for them next term.
And the lure of Premier League football may be too good an opportunity for the Liverpool man to turn down, yet Leonid Slutsky’s Hull and Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds will likely be able to offer him more first team football in the league below.
Thus, it very much remains to be seen where Kent is plying his trade next season.
