Wolverhampton Wanderers have been exceptional in the Sky Bet Championship this season, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side continue to set the pace at the summit of the division.

Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota have taken plenty of plaudits, with the on-loan duo scoring goals and adding assists consistently throughout the season so far. Ruben Neves is another player that has a big reputation in midfield, with plenty praising the Portuguese international.

One player who does not get the credit he deserves is Romain Saiss, who alongside Neves in midfield, has been exceptional, making 15 appearances and scoring two goals.

Here at FLW, our writers give their thoughts on the 27-year-old midfielder…

Adam Simeoni

I'm impressed by Saiss.

He has battled hard to gain a regular berth in Santo's side, and his goal on Friday was just reward for his fine performances of late.

Not a standout player, but a reliable option who gets the job done in the heart of Wolves' extremely talented side.

Chris Gallagher

Excellent.

The Moroccan had a mixed season last year, but has improved his game considerably this season.

His partnership with Ruben Neves is a major factor in Wolves' impressive performances, with Saiss bringing physicality and an excellent range of passing to the team.

There were high hopes when he arrived from Angers and he's delivering on them now.

George Dagless

He's been hugely underrated.

Saiss isn't going to get the plaudits of the likes of Ruben Neves or Diogo Jota because he isn't that kind of player.

He's no less important though with the amount of work he gets through in a game, he just needs to curb the amount of yellows he picks up.
