‘Huge respect’, ‘Leadership’ – Many Charlton fans impressed by Craig MacGillivray message

Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray has told Addicks fans that he and the rest of the squad are not happy with the way the season has started, which has been well received by the Valley faithful.

Charlton have taken just one point from their first four League One games and slumped to their third league defeat on Saturday as they were beaten 2-0 by Wigan in south London.

Late goals from Tendayi Darikwa and James McClean proved the difference but the game could’ve been out of sight earlier were it not for some impressive saves from MacGillivray.

The 28-year-old is still yet to experience a win in a Charlton shirt and took to Twitter yesterday to tell fans that he and the rest of the squad knew the start of the season had been unacceptable.

Pressure is building on manager Nigel Adkins, as the Addicks are surely targetting promotion this season but currently sit 21st in the table.

Have Charlton Athletic won or lost more against each of these 25 English teams?

Aston Villa

It’s understandable that the Valley faithful would be frustrated after what they’ve seen through the first few weeks of the 2021/22 campaign but it seems MacGillivray’s honest has been well received by many Charlton fans on Twitter.
