Luton Town have announced the signing of goalkeeper Simon Sluga from Croatian side HNK Rijeka for a club-record fee of at least €1.5million.
Sluga, who made his debut for the Croatian national team earlier in the summer, has signed a three-year contract at Kenilworth Road, keeping him with the Hatters until the summer of 2022.
The 26-year-old former Juventus academy member made 86 appearances in all competitions for Rijeka, winning two Croatian Cups and a Croatian League Title during his time with the club’s senior side.
Following the Hatters’ promotion to the Championship as League One champions last season, Sluga has become Luton’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the likes of Brendan Galloway, Martin Cranie, Ryan Tunnicliffe and Callum McManaman in making the move to Kenilworth Road.
Taking to Twitter to react to news of Sluga’s arrival, a number of Luton fans appeared to be encouraged by their new signing.
Here, we take a look at what some of them had to say.
