Stoke City wing-back Josh Tymon has put pen to paper on a fresh three-and-a-half-year deal at the bet365 Stadium to extend his stay until 2025, the club confirmed yesterday evening.

The left-sided 22-year-old has been an ever-present figure until Michael O'Neill so far this season, starting every one of the Potters' 19 Championship games this term and has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Joining from Hull City in the summer of 2017 after cancelling his scholarship at the MKM Stadium, he endured a slow start to life in Staffordshire and was even shipped out on loan to MK Dons and Portuguese side Famalicao, despite having already played in the Premier League for the Tigers and his current side.

His fortunes at the bet365 Stadium didn't improve until last season, when he was given a chance by manager O'Neill to impress at left-back, in a more advanced wing position and in the middle of the park.

But with Rhys Norrington-Davies returning to Championship rivals Sheffield United on the expiration of his loan deal in the summer - and the Potters opting to switch their system to a back five - he has enjoyed the most successful campaign of his career so far this term as a regular starter.

He will be looking to improve on his league goal contributions tally of one goal and one assist now he has secured his spot on the teamsheet, starting today as he prepares to face Blackburn Rovers this afternoon.

How have Stoke City fans reacted to this contract news though? Are they happy?
