Huddersfield Town host Preston North End this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship, with both these sides looking to build on midweek victories.

Football League World will be live at the John Smith’s Stadium tomorrow afternoon to bring you in-game coverage.

However, ahead of that coverage starting, we’ve pieced together a preview for you to get your teeth into.

Form so far

Carlos Corberan endured a tough start to life as Huddersfield boss, losing back-to-back fixtures in the opening weeks of the Championship season. However, on the back of those defeats to Norwich and Brentford, things are looking up.

A win over Nottingham Forest got them off the mark, with that backed up by a point in a Yorkshire derby with Rotherham United.

On the back of the international break it’s back-to-back wins against Swansea City and Derby County.

Preston currently sit 15th in the Championship table, but Alex Neil’s side are a threat away from home.

Homes defeats to Swansea, Stoke and Cardiff leave them pointless at Deepdale, but on the road they’ve picked up seven points from a possible nine.

A draw at Norwich has been backed up by impressive wins at Brentford and Queens Park Rangers.

Victory in Huddersfield would be their third on the bounce away from home.

Team news

Corberan has revealed that right-back, Pipa, has had muscular problems. However, he’s had a positive recovery and appears to be in contention.

Álex Vallejo is isolating, whilst Danny Ward needs more time to recover from his setback.

Tommy Elphick remains a long-term absentee as Corberan goes into the Preston clash with the same group that beat Derby.

As for Preston, there’s little to worry about for Neil in terms of fresh injuries.

He’s confirmed in his press conference that North End are carrying a couple of knocks, with Ben Davies and Ben Pearson the two in question.

Previous meetings

This fixture last season was played behind closed doors on the back of the EFL’s postponement. And, it was a game where fans didn’t miss too much, with the pair playing out a goalless draw at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The reverse fixture at Deepdale saw Preston win 3-1. Goals from Jayden Stockley, Alan Browne and Paul Gallagher put Neil’s side into a strong lead, with Juninho Bacuna responding with a consolation.

Huddersfield’s last win over Preston came in April 2017 when they won 3-2 on their way to promotion under David Wagner.
