Huddersfield Town will be hoping for a much-improved season in 2020/21, with Carlos Corberan looking to make his mark at the John Smith's Stadium.

The former Leeds United coach will be hoping to hit the ground running when his side face Norwich City on the first day of the season, but before then, he will be undoubtedly keen to strengthen his squad.

Town have made only the one signing so far this summer with Danny Ward joining on a free transfer, but there has been plenty of speculation linking other players with moves to the John Smith's Stadium.

Here, we round up the latest transfer news and gossip concerning Huddersfield Town...

Interest in Joel Pereira

The Sun have claimed that Manchester United goalkeeper Joel Pereira is set to join Huddersfield on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.

The 24-year-old spent last season on loan in the SPFL with Hearts, and will be looking to gain more first-team experience having made only three senior appearances for United thus far in his career.

Huddersfield are on the lookout for a new goalkeeper following Kamil Grabara's return to parent club Liverpool and Jonas Lossl's return to Everton, with Pereira set to become their new number one.

Gotts 'close' to loan move

Corberan looks set to make full use of his connections with Leeds United, with Alan Nixon recently claiming that Robbie Gotts is 'close' to joining Huddersfield on loan.

The 20-year-old has found game time hard to come by under Marcelo Bielsa, featuring only twice for Leeds in the past two seasons under the Argentine.

He looks set to get out and get some games under his belt next season, though, with the young midfielder 'close' to moving on loan to Huddersfield.

Pascal Struijk eyed

Nixon also claims that Corberan is interested in taking Struijk on loan for the 2020/21 campaign, after catching the eye for Leeds in the latter stages of the 2020/21 campaign.

Struijk featured five times for Leeds last season, playing three times following the season's resumptions as the Whites secured a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old came on as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Barnsley, in what turned out to be a very nervy game for the Whites, but he showed calmness and real ability on the ball and stood out.

Liam Lindsay emerges as a target

Finally from Nixon, Huddersfield are among a trio of Championship sides interested in Stoke defender Liam Lindsay.

The Scot arrived at the bet365 Stadium from Barnsley in the summer after impressing in League One, but he has since endured a rocky spell in Staffordshire.

Huddersfield, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn are said to be interested in the 24-year-old, who has made a total of 23 appearances for the Potters thus far.

Interest in Dion Sanderson

Wolves defender Dion Sanderson is attracting interest from a quartet of Championship clubs including Town, as per the Express and Star.

Yorkshire trio Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield are eyeing up moves for the full-back, with Cardiff also keen to re-sign the 20-year-old after an impressive loan spell last term.

Sanderson spent the second-half of last season on loan in South Wales with Cardiff, and the defender helped them to cement their place in the top-six, impressing in his 10 appearances for the Bluebirds.

Potential Chris Willock reunion?

The Examiner have claimed that Town could look to make another move for Chris Willock after a positive loan spell at the John Smith's Stadium last term.

The 22-year-old joined Huddersfield on loan from Benfica in January, after a disappointing loan spell at West Bromwich Albion in the first-half of the campaign.

He scored twice in 14 appearances for the Terriers, and could be set for a move back to Yorkshire in 2020/21.
