Huddersfield Town are ramping up preparations for the 2021/22 campaign, with the League Cup and Championship's start now just around the corner.

Carlos Corberan's side were beaten by Norwich City last week in a pre-season friendly, but their performance against last year's Championship Champions was encouraging.

Focus is, undoubtedly, on the new season right now, but lingering in the background remains the summer transfer window.

Huddersfield have padded out their squad nicely already, yet there's still work to be done at the John Smith's Stadium and you'd be foolish to think otherwise with a month of the window still remaining.

We run your through the latest headlines here:

Lewis O'Brien

Leeds United have been noted as having an interest in signing O'Brien from Town this summer, although as things stand, the 22-year-old remains.

As per The Athletic last week, Leeds have set their sights on Conor Gallagher at Chelsea as they look to sign a midfielder to bolster Marcelo Bielsa's squad.

That suggests that their interest in O'Brien doesn't look like developing at this stage of the summer.

Jacob Chapman

Not news in terms of an incoming or outgoing at the John Smith's Stadium, but Chapman has signed a contract extension to keep him at Huddersfield long-term.

The Australian goalkeeper has been on the book with Huddersfield since 2019 and has played B Team football regularly, which earned him a chance on the first team bench back in 2020.

Chapman's new terms tie him down until the summer of 2024.

Gabriel Osho

Football League World reported last week that Huddersfield were amongst Championship and League One clubs to enquire about the service of Osho at Luton Town.

The 22-year-old has been out on loan with Yeovil and Rochdale previously and is not short of suitors this summer.

Portsmouth and Ipswich Town in League One are keen, whilst Derby County, Peterborough United and Huddersfield have enquired about his service, we are told.

Whether things materialise beyond that remains to be seen.
