Huddersfield Town are in action tonight taking on Millwall, as Carlos Corberan’s side look for their first victory in 2021.
Corberan has had a number of injuries to contend with over the festive period and, unfortunately, that bad luck has continued into the New Year.
That’s pushed extra importance onto the transfer window, with Corberan looking to add some experienced Championship players to help his young guns’ integration into first-team life that little bit easier.
Richard Stearman and Christopher Schindler are some of those out of the side currently, which leads us into this transfer round-up nicely.
We kick things off with a done deal and potential debut…
Keogh has arrived at Huddersfield from MK Dons.
He’s been in League One during the first-half of this season and has made 21 appearances across all competitions for the Dons.
However, he’s back in the Championship and on a contract with Huddersfield that runs until the summer.
The former Derby skipper could make his debut for Huddersfield tonight, with the 34-year-old set to partner Naby Sarr at centre-back.
It’s been widely reported that Huddersfield will swoop to bring Duane Holmes back to West Yorkshire.
The 26-year-old midfielder is out of contract at Derby in the summer and looks set for a return to Huddersfield if reports are to be believed.
Wayne Rooney confirmed last night (as per Ryan Conway) that Holmes was close to leaving Pride Park.
Onto a potential outgoing in the form of Alex Pritchard.
Football League World understands that Derby were trying to sign the midfielder as part of the Holmes deal.
Whether that comes off or not remains to be seen, but sources have also told Football League World that it is a matter of when, not if, when it comes to Pritchard departing and moving on.
Rolando Aarons arriving might well push him out of the door in January, but if not, it will come in the summer when the midfielder’s contract is due to expire.
