Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon are taking a closer look at Huddersfield Town defender Pipa ahead of a potential transfer move this summer, according to reports coming out of the country.

Sporting took the league title in Portugal for the first time in several years last season and will obviously be looking to build on that as they aim to defend their crown from the likes of Porto and Benfica.

According to Record, then, they see full-back Pipa as a player that could help them do that, with the report suggesting that a fee of €2m could get the deal done.

Pipa has impressed during his time at the Terriers and, after they signed him for under £1m, it's clear his value is obviously on the up.

The Verdict

Pipa is a good player and one of several Huddersfield Town men that could attract interest this summer and potentially seal a depature.

The Terriers have, of course, already been busy this summer in terms of adding to their squad with the likes of Oliver Turton and Josh Ruffels arriving and so it's clear that it could now be the case that the club looks to balance the books by letting some players go.

Whether that is Pipa or not, then, remains to be seen.
