In what has been an excellent season for Huddersfield Town, the west Yorkshire side has finished fifth in the Sky Bet Championship, as they now go into the play-offs with the chance of gaining promotion to the Premier League.

Regardless of if Huddersfield Town can continue to defy the odds to gain promotion to the Premier League, the summer transfer window will be a crucial one.

Whereas last summer, David Wagner had to have a mass overhaul of the squad which included the arrival of thirteen new players, this summer, it is expected that the West Yorkshire side will look for quality rather than quantity.

Whilst David Wagner has carefully constructed a side which has competition for places, the competition in wide positions for Rajiv van La Parra and Elias Kachunga this season has been underwhelming.

Harry Bunn and Joe Lolley have struggled to make an impression when they have been given the opportunity, and Sean Scannell has been unable to provide competition, due to a knee injury which has seen him sidelined for over three months.

In the summer, David Wagner may look to address the wide positions.

The possible departure of Harry Bunn and Joe Lolley, either on a permanent or temporary basis, would free in space to bring in new signings to add to more strength, depth and competition for the wide positions.

One player who may be on Huddersfield Town and David Wagner's radar is Everton star Aiden McGeady, who whilst on loan at Preston North End has proved to be a revelation in the Championship this season.

In 34 Championship appearances, Aiden McGeady provided nine assists and scored eight times which included a blistering long-range strike against Huddersfield Town at the John Smith Stadium.

With Everton likely to allow Aiden McGeady to leave in the summer, the creative technically gifted Republic of Ireland winger could be the perfect fit for David Wagner's fluid system.

Huddersfield Town fans, would you like to see Aiden McGeady join your side? Do you think he would be an improvement on your current wide options? Is he type of player that would suit David Wagner's philosophy? Let us hear your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
