Huddersfield Town have announced that Jacob Chapman has extended his stay with the club until the summer of 2022.

The goalkeeper has been a regular for the under 19's team since he arrived in January 2019, and has seemingly made a good impression on the club's coaching staff.

Huddersfield's Academy manager Leigh Bromby is keen to see the youngster build on some impressive showings in an interview after Chapman's new deal was confirmed.

"Since joining us in January, Jacob has gone from strength-to-strength and continued to develop. He now has to continue his hard work."

Chapman is yet to make an appearance for Huddersfield's first team, but will be hoping he can impress Danny Cowley in the near future.

But he has travelled with the first team squad in the past, as he was with the players for their trip to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town, in a game where the Hatters ran out 2-1 winners.

Cowley has made an instant impact with the Terriers, and has taken them out of the relegation zone heading into the international break.

Huddersfield are next in action when they take on Blackburn Rovers, in what will be a tricky test for Cowley's side at Ewood Park on Saturday 19th October.

The Verdict:

This is a smart move by the Terriers.

Chapman is clearly highly-rated with Huddersfield, and he could be one to watch in the future, as they look to return to the Premier League.

Danny Cowley has settled into life well with the newly-relegated club, and he'll be confident of taking his side forward as the seasons heads towards the potentially season-defining festive period.
