Championship side Huddersfield Town are one of several clubs who are thought to be interested in signing striker Emeka Eze from Austrian side Sturm Graz, according to report from Turkish outlet Fotospor.

Eze is currently on a season long-loan with Adanaspor, and has so far scored five goals in six appearances in all competitions for the Turkish second-tier side.

Now it appears as though those performances have caught the attention of a number of sides elsewhere, including Huddersfield.

The Terriers could be in need of another striker as they look to move away from the Championship relegation zone this season, with Karlan Grant the only player to score more than once in the league for the club this season.

Along with Huddersfield, it has also been claimed that Serie A side Sampdoria are interested in the striker, while Adanaspor are said to have the option of making Eze's move from Austria permanent.

It is also thought that Eze would be reluctant to leave Adanaspor during the January transfer window, since he is focused on the Turkish club - who are currently 13th in the 18 division - for this season.

There are currently two years remaining on Eze's contract with Sturm Graz, tieing him to the Austrian club until the summer of 2021.

The Verdict

This is an interesting one.

It certainly seems as though Huddersfield could do with bringing in another striker to relieve some of the pressure on Karlan Grant, given the troubles in front of goal the rest of the side have had so far this season.

Eze's record so far this year does suggest that he has the eye for goal required to fill that role for Huddersfield, although it seems as though it may be difficult for them to bring him in anytime soon, meaning the damage could already be done before he gets to the John Smith's Stadium.

Add to that the fact that the Championship will likely be something of a step up from where Eze has played so far in his career, and you feel Huddersfield may be better off searching for some alternative attacking options.
