Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor are interested in signing Huddersfield Town winger Isaac Mbenza, according to Turkish newspaper Fanatik

The 23-year-old is among a trio who were told by Danny Cowley in December that they could leave the club as they weren't in his plans going forward.

The Turkish Super Lig leaders are looking to loan the winger as they look to maintain their place at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.

Mbenza joined the Terriers on a permanent basis in the summer, following a loan spell at the club which saw the winger make 22 appearances in the Premier League.

This season however, the 23-year-old has struggled to make his mark on the Terriers first team, only appearing five times in the Championship this season.

Mbenza has featured only once since the arrival of Danny Cowley at Town, and some may not have been surprised to see the 23-year-old being made available.

Fanatik have also reported that Sivasspor are looking to add three additions to their side as their titles rivals are also looking to strengthen in the January window.

The 23-year-old's contract with the Terriers is set to run until June 2021 and a move, even if it's just a loan in the first instance, could help rejuvenate his career.

The Verdict

It appears the talks are in the early stages for Mbenza with Sivasspor sounding keen to take the winger on loan for the rest of the season.

At only 23, a loan move and regular game time in the second half could help the winger rediscover some of his form that saw him win a permanent deal at Town.

Although Danny Cowley has previously said the player is allowed to leave, a loan move could suit both parties and should Mbenza impress over in Turkey, Cowley could reconsider his stance on the player's future.
