Huddersfield Town left back Harry Toffolo has told Yorkshire Live that he is very glad that the club are in negotiations with him over a new contract.
The defender previously joined the Terriers back in January of last year from Lincoln City and has since gone on to establish himself as a key player at the John Smith’s Stadium under Carlos Corberan.
Now aged 26, Toffolo’s current contract is set to expire next summer and negotiations are already underway to hand the attacking full back fresh terms as the Terriers look to tie down one of their key men.
Speaking recently about the prospect of putting pen to paper at Huddersfield once again, Toffolo was quick to state the following about the ongoing negotiations:
“It’s amazing (the contract talks). I’m glad the club is doing it. It’s an important step moving forward. When I signed here 18 months I thought it could be home and the people of Yorkshire have welcomed me with open arms. My kids are enjoying school and that’s arguably the most important thing.”

Toffolo has already played over 50 times for the club and is currently thriving as an advanced wing back in Corberan’s chosen 3-4-3 formation, with the defender even getting on the scoresheet this weekend in the 2-1 defeat away to Stoke City.
Meanwhile, the left back will currently be preparing to face Blackpool tomorrow in the league as the Terriers look to get back to winning ways.
Tying down Toffolo to a new deal will be a great bit of business for Huddersfield as he has been a key part of what they have been trying to do in these early stages of the season.
He is thriving at getting forward and is still providing a solid defensive presence on the left hand side.
Many of the club’s fans have taken to him since he arrived from Lincoln and they will no doubt be delighted to here that he is more than happy to stay put in Yorkshire.
An agreement could now be on the horizon and that can only be good news for everyone associated with the club moving forwards.
