Huddersfield Town are hoping to welcome back a trio of absent first-team players when they host Queens Park Rangers in the Championship this weekend.

Carlos Corberan's side were well beaten in their last fixture, with Cardiff City brushing them aside in South Wales on Tuesday evening and winning 3-0.

An intense fixture list means that Huddersfield have been feeling the pinch recently in terms of injuries, but as the next obstacle for them to overcome presents itself, Corberan could be about to welcome back some key faces.

Quiz: Which club did Huddersfield Town sign each of these 25 players from?

As per Yorkshire Live, Pipa and Alex Pritchard could come back into the reckoning this weekend, as could Juninho Bacuna, who missed the trip to Cardiff.

Pipa has been absent with a hamstring injury since the draw with Luton Town, whilst Pritchard's ankle injury has left him sidelined for a similar period.

That pair were back in training during the week but missed out on Cardiff, whilst Bacuna's hamstring problem meant the makeshift right-back was also unable to feature against the Bluebirds.

Saturday's clash with QPR kickstarts a period of three home fixtures in the next five.

Sheffield Wednesday follow the R's to West Yorkshire, with Watford visiting on December 19th. Sandwiched between are trips to Bournemouth and Coventry City.

The Verdict

This would be a major boost for Corberan.

The Huddersfield squad on Tuesday night was very disjointed, but that's not really the manager's fault. It comes down to a tough schedule leaving them short on bodies because of injury.

In Pipa, you've got a great right-back option returning, whilst Pritchard and Bacuna can be fresh legs in the midfield.

Carel Eiting and Lewis O'Brien are being asked to play a lot of football at the moment, so they need some help heading into Christmas.
