Huddersfield Town goalkeeper leaves the club

It was officially confirmed that Huddersfield academy goalkeeper Ed Wilczynski would be leaving the club on loan to Bishop Auckland until his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The loan move provides Wilczynski the opportunity to showcase his talent and allow him to put himself in the shop window for a potential future club.

Wilczynski has never featured for Huddersfield’s senior side as he has spent the vast majority of his time on loan at non league sides including Hyde United, Trafford FC, FC United of Manchester and Sheffield FC as well as Bishop Auckland who he had been at this season before being recalled.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper’s career at Huddersfield has stuttered and stalled and he has not developed into the goalkeeper that Huddersfield was hoping he could become.

Huddersfield fans, what do you think of the news? Have you seen Wilczynski play for the development side? Do you think it is harsh that he was never given a real opportunity at the club? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below!
