League One leaders Rotherham United have announced the signing of Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma on loan until the end of the season.

Koroma helped Leyton Orient win promotion from the National League last season, before making the move to Huddersfield during the summer transfer window.

Since then, Koroma has made nine appearances in all competitions for the Terriers, including seven in the Championship.

The 21-year-old is now set to spend the rest of the season at the New York Stadium, as the Millers look to secure an immediate promotion back to the Championship.

Paul Warne's side are currently top of the third-tier standings following their 1-0 win over Ipswich on Tuesday night, putting them two points clear of the automatic promotion places.

Koroma becomes Rotherham's second signing of the January transfer, following the arrival of winger Hakeeb Adelakun on loan from Bristol City.

The Verdict

This could be a useful signing for all parties.

Koroma certainly played a big part in Leyton Orient's promotion last season, and that experience could certainly be useful as the Millers look to get back into the Championship at the first attempt this season.

For Koroma too, it does seem as though the step up from the National League to the Championship has been a challenging one, so the move to League One could help him get some game time and build some confidence again.

That could suit Huddersfield too, considering it should provide them with an improved player when Koroma returns to the John Smith's Stadium in the summer.
